# Put CommonYard on your home screen

> Add CommonYard to your phone's home screen so it has its own icon and opens full screen, like an app.

CommonYard is a web app. Adding it to your home screen gives it its own icon and opens it full screen, without the browser's address bar.

## On Android (Chrome)

1. Open **commonyard.app** in Chrome.
2. Tap the **⋮** menu at the top right.
3. Tap **Add to Home screen** or **Install app** (the wording depends on your phone).
4. Tap **Add** or **Install**. The CommonYard icon appears on your home screen.

## On iPhone (Safari)

1. Open **commonyard.app** in Safari.
2. Tap the **Share** button — the square with an arrow pointing up.
3. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**.
4. Tap **Add**.

> On iPhone, CommonYard can only send you notifications once it is on your Home Screen and opened from there. That is Apple's rule for web apps.
