CommonYard is a free social app where people vote in polls, take sides, sign petitions, play games and run yards for their school, faith group or friends.
In a paragraph
CommonYard is a free social app built for taking part rather than scrolling. A post can ask for one small act — a vote, a side, a signature, a swipe — done right on the card, with the result shown straight away. People gather in yards: communities for a school, a church or mosque, a family or friends, each with its own posts, chat and events. There are games to play alone or together, from Penalty Flick to Troll War. CommonYard runs in any browser at commonyard.app, is home to RateYourSociety, Ghana’s public-opinion platform, and was created by Ronald Dumeloo.

How to write the name
- CommonYard — one word, with a capital C and a capital Y.
- The Yard, with a capital Y, is the whole of CommonYard. A yard, with a small y, is one community inside it.
- RateYourSociety is one word, RYS for short. It is not a former name of CommonYard: RateYourSociety lives inside CommonYard.
