Sub yards

A sub yard is a smaller yard inside a yard — a hall, a class, a department, the choir — with its own chat and admins. Join one from the yard's page, or make one if you run the yard.

Updated

A big yard can hold smaller ones. A university yard might have a sub yard for each hall; a church yard one for the choir and one for the youth. Each sub yard has its own posts, its own chat and its own admins, and the people in it are all members of the yard it’s in.

Join a sub yard

  1. Open the yard.
  2. Near the top, under the yards on the sky, Sub yards lists the ones inside it, with how many are in each and how many are here now.
  3. Tap Join beside one. If it says Ask to join, its admins let you in, and you get a notification when they do.
  4. Tap a sub yard’s name to look inside it first. Once you’re in, its button says Open.

Three show at first; Show all lists the rest. The sub yards are on the yard’s own page too — tap the yard’s name at the top.

Make a sub yard (owners and admins)

  1. Open the yard, tap its name at the top, and tap Manage yard.
  2. Tap Sub yards, then Make a sub yard.
  3. Give it a name — “Legon Hall”, “Level 300”, “the choir” — and say what it’s for.
  4. Under WHO RUNS IT, find anyone from the yard by username to run it with you. You are one of its admins either way.
  5. Tap Make the sub yard.

Good to know

  • To be in a sub yard you need to be in the yard it’s part of. Joining a sub yard while you’re only looking around the yard joins you to both.
  • A private yard’s sub yards are shown only to its members.
  • The yard’s owner and admins can manage every sub yard inside it, from Manage yard → Sub yards → Manage.
  • A sub yard can’t have sub yards of its own.
  • For everything else about running a yard, see Run your yard.
